There could still be a censure of Trump with real legislative teeth in it, perhaps in conjunction with section 3 of the 14th Amendment (which would prevent him from running for office again). This would only require a few of the seven Republicans who were willing to convict regarding impeachment to vote to censure Trump in a serious, meaningful way (as it only requires a majority, not a 2/3 supermajority).

This process is far from over. And even if Trump is censured per above, we will still have an enormous amount of work to do as a country.
