The issue isn’t so much a “takeover of the government”, but rather the integrity of our electoral and constitutional systems – whether we will be swayed by mob and political intimidation and illegalities, or whether we will govern ourselves by the rule of law. Will interference in elections and mob violence be “normalized”, or we push back through the legal and electoral tools available to us?

Click and sign The Pledge to Safeguard the Election [https://sign.moveon.org/petitions/pledge-to-safeguard-the-election], which addresses these issues. Share it with anybody else who will sign it in order to take a stand against any further threats to our democracy.

Also look at The Pledge to Safeguard the Constitution [https://www.thepledge.site/the-pledge-to-safeguard-the-constitution], a targeted and consolidated set of legislative proposals to limit presidential powers which make such authoritarianism possible in the first place.
